Pruisner tabbed an All-American

Lane Pruisner, a freshman on the Iowa Central rugby team, has been named an All-American to the USA Rugby Men's Under-20 team.

Pruisner helped the Tritons claim the Div. 1AA national championship this past fall. The Ankeny Centennial graduate was one of 33 players named to the team, with 20 of those coming from schools in the United States.

At Centennial, Pruisner was an all-state lineman in football and wrestled for the Jaguars. He also was a four-year varsity rugby player and three-time captain, earning elite all-state status.

"I chose Iowa Central because I knew I could get a good education for not as much money, I loved the campus, and the brotherhood the rugby team has," Pruisner said. "And I get to play the sport I love."

The Men's U20 Americas Rugby Championship was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. No make-up date has been announced yet.
