Iowa Central assistant rugby coaches Joe Lippert and Hamish McCallion will represent the program at the 2022 NCR All-Star Shield Challenge.

Both have been named to the coaching staff for the all-star event, which takes place in Houston January 15-17. The event is a showcase for the best players in the country, with matches being held inside AVEVA Stadium, home of the Houston Sabercats.

Lippert, a native of Wisconsin, is in his first season with the Tritons. He has been involved in the sport of rugby for almost two decades, including a run as head coach with the Wisconsin Rugby Club and Lindenwood University-Belleville that resulted in national championships. 

McCallion, also in his first season as an assistant under Iowa Central head coach Brent Nelson, is a native of New Zealand. He was previously on the coaching staff at Dartmouth College and Central Washington. 

The Tritons head to Lindenwood this Saturday before preparing for a bowl game in December.
