Koffi scores game-winner for Tritons

MASON CITY - The Iowa Central men's soccer team claimed a 1-0 victory over North Iowa Area here Saturday despite being short-handed.

Christian Koffi scored the game-winning goal for the Tritons, who improved to 1-1 on the year and 1-1 in the ICCAC.

"The guys came together, stepped up and did a great job," Iowa Central head coach Pablo Rodriguez said. "Even with several players out due to quarantine and injuries, they responded."

Ever Tobar recorded a clean sheet as the keeper for the Tritons. 

"Ever did a great job," Rodriguez said. "He was filling in after we lost our two other keepers and was great."

Iowa Central will make its home debut on Tuesday at Rogers Sports Complex vs. Southeastern at 1 p.m.
