Tritons upset No. 5 Iowa Lakes

SPENCER - Still trying to piece everything together, the Iowa Central men's soccer team received quite the boost here Thursday.

After battling fifth-ranked Iowa Lakes to a 1-1 draw, the Tritons scored the game-winning during overtime, claiming a 2-1 victory.

Iowa Central's Recardo Wleh kicked in the game-winner after the defense kept the Lakers from doing the same just moments earlier. Christian Koffi also recorded the first goal of the match.

"It was a good win for our us," Iowa Central head coach Pablo Rodriguez said. "We've been battling a lot already this season, and the boys continue to play hard and work hard."

Freshman Ever Tobar picked up the win in net.

The Tritons return to the pitch on Saturday when they head to Marshalltown for a 1 p.m. start.
