Red-hot Tritons make it four straight

Four different players found the back of the net as the Iowa Central men's soccer team posted a 4-2 victory over North Iowa Area here Saturday afternoon at Rogers Sports Complex.

The win was the fourth straight for the Tritons (5-1 overall), who have outscored their opponents 23-5 during that stretch.

Giovanni Kachan, Kirubel Yerga, Lucas Pollacchi and Ombeni Mubake each recorded a goal. Kachan had the first with Yerga giving Iowa Central a 2-1 lead after the Trojans tied it up.

Following another NIACC goal, Pollacchi provided the game-winner before Hagos finishing things off with a thrilling goal in the final seconds of the match.

"We didn't play great, but when you can still get a win, you feel good about it," Iowa Central head coach Pablo Rodriguez said. "We're still working to figure things out here before we enter into our Div. I conference schedule. The boys are doing a good job and we're happy with the progress."

The goal was Yerga's team-leading 12th of the season. Pollacchi now has seven goals while Kachan and Mubake had their first.

Both of NIACC's goals came off the foot of Levi Nolan-Morgan, with one in each half.

Iowa Central returns to action Wednesday when they travel to Burlington to face Southeastern at 3 p.m.
