Tritons claim several top finishes in South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Competing for the first time this season, the Iowa Central men's swim program picked up seven first place finishes over two days at the University of South Dakota and the Coyote Quad Duals.

The Tritons swam against the host Coyotes, South Dakota State and Sioux Falls from inside the Midco Aquatic Center.

Kyle McKenzie captured three top finishes over the weekend, winning the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke on Friday and the 200 breaststroke on Saturday. He was also second in the 100 individual medley.

Johnathon Turner placed first in the 50 free and 100 butterfly to go along with a fourth in the 100 individual medley and sixth in the 100 freestyle. Andrew Iverson was the winner of the 1000 and placed second in both the 1650 and 500. 

Tjeerd Van Stein finished as the winner of the 200 backstroke and was fourth in both the 200 free and 100 backstroke events with Logan Childers adding a silver in the 1000, Andres Giles a fourth in the 200 breaststroke and Javier Santiago a seventh in the 200 backstroke.

Iowa Central is set to compete again on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13 in Davenport, Iowa at St. Ambrose.
