Tritons ace Concordia on the road

SEWARD, Neb. - The Iowa Central men's tennis team improved to 3-0 on the year with a 6-1 victory over Concordia this past weekend.

Zamani Moyo, Eduardo Valenca, Arthur Praud, Nolan Laduree and Theo Devals all picked up wins in singles action for the Tritons, who also claimed two of the three doubles matches. 

"It was an impressive showing from the team," Iowa Central head coach Eric Sturgis said. "We had some very dominating performances."

Moyo claimed a tough three-set victory at the No. 1 singles spot, with Valenca also winning in three at No. 2. Praud, Laduree and Devals picked up straight set victories. 

"Zamani had a tough match against a top Brazilian player," Sturgis said. "He was able to grind out the victory. Eduardo had a great come-from-behind win to earn the sixth-point for Iowa Central."

In doubles, the teams of Moyo and Riku Sugiyama at No. 1 and Devals and Praud at No. 3 earned wins. 

The Tritons head to Orange City on Tuesday to face Northwestern College at 4 p.m.
