With just three weeks left before NJCAA indoor nationals, the Iowa Central track and field team competed in two invites this past weekend.

A handful of athletes went to the Frank Sevigne/Husker Invitational in Nebraska, while the rest went to the Ted Nelson Classic in Minnesota. 

Nine new national qualifiers were achieved by the Tritons. 

"We saw some really elite performances this past weekend and we also learned quite a bit about ourselves and our limits," said Dee Brown, Director of Track and Field and Cross Country at Iowa Central. "Some athletes tried new tactics that didn't quite work out, but will make themselves better in the long run.  We witnessed three athletes crack the top-10 all time in NJCAA history in their events, that is also very special."

Next action for Iowa Central will be this Friday and Saturday in Brookings, S.D. at the SDSU Classic.
