Tritons load up on All-America honors

The Iowa Central track and field program once again had a memorable indoor season, concluding it with a handful of national championships and a runner-up team finish for the men.

The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has honored the Tritons with 28 individual and 43 All-America honors. 

To be eligible for All-America status, athletes needed to finish in the Top-8 in their respective event at the 2021 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. 

Jaheem Hayles, Jerome Jesup, Lilia Alvarez, Rosalie Fish and Chloe Lenoir were each named three times with Kelvin Bungei, Dashinelle Dyer, Lee Eppie and Hannah Connell earning two nods. 

Iowa Central's 43 total honors ranked fourth-most with the men earning 25. Those named All-America include Robin Aguilar Gonzalez (4x800), Enoch Antwi (triple jump), Pur Biel (4x800), David Bosquez Grimaldo (high jump), Darius Brown (4x800), Bungei (mile, 3000), Hayden Cobbs (4x800), Eliot Cummings (triple jump), Dyer (60, 60 hurdles), Eppie (400, 4x400), Tristen Hanna (triple jump), Cassius Havis (4x800), Hayles (200, 60 hurdles, 4x400), Jarod Henderson (weight throw), Jesup (60, 200, 4x400), Nicola Paletti (heptathlon), William Richardson (weight throw) and Aries Scott (heptathlon). 

For the women, Victoria Adu (weight throw), Alvarez (1000, 4x800, distance medley), Kirstyn Beaman (4x800), Connell (200, 60 hurdles), Fish (1000, mile, distance medley), Odell Frye (60), Madison Johnson (high jump), Lenoir (mile, 3000, distance medley), Shaunti Longfellow (4x800), Josie Stackis (4x800) and Nadesha Wallace (distance medley).
