Weyerstrass Joins Track & Field Staff As Pole Vault Coach

Iowa Central Track & Field is excited to announce the addition of Aubry Weyerstrass to the coaching staff. Weyerstrass will join the program on December 11th, she will work primarily with the pole vaulters and work on campus as a housing coordinator.

"I'm thrilled to work at Iowa Central and can't wait to see what the season brings," said Weyerstrass.

During her time at McNesse State the Cowgirls won two Southland Conference Championships. She was a conference placer in the Pole Vault three times.

In the classroom Weyerstrass was named to both the McNesse State University President's Honor Roll and the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.  Weyerstrass will graduate in December from McNesse State University with a degree in Pre-Physical Therapy with a minor in Sports Medicine.

The Biloxi, Mississippi native started her coaching career in 2018 at Lanier's Gymnastics. She has worked with the pole vaulters at her high school, Biloxi High and this past fall worked as a volunteer coach at McNesse State assisting with the pole vaulters.

"We're so excited to be adding Aubry to our staff" said Head Track & Field Coach Anne Cleary. "Through the interview process she showed a wealth of knowledge in the area of pole vault and experience coaching at multiple levels. We feel she is going to be a great fit and the perfect last piece to our coaching staff."

The Tritons will open their Indoor Track & Field season on January 13th at the University of Iowa. Both the Men and the Women's team are defending Region XI Champions.
