Five members of the Iowa Central sport shooting team in 2020-21 came together to win multiple titles at the recent 2021 SCTP National Team Championships.

Thayne Chapin, Chase Martin, Taya Myers, Noah Sundene and Tristan Hoy won the 200 target trap singles, 200 target trap doubles and 200 target handicap titles.

Chapin was the 200 target trap singles winner, firing a perfect score of 200. Myers was first in 200 target trap doubles with a 183 and third in 200 target trap singles with a 194, while Martin was second in 200 target trap doubles with a 181.

The group shot a 982 to win trap singles, an 893 to win trap doubles and an 847 to claim the handicap titles. They were also ninth in 100 target skeet, 11th in 200 target skeet and 12th in 200 target sport shooting.

"It was great to be represented by these student-athletes at this national tournament," Iowa Central head coach Terry Coleman said. "And what great experience for the ones returning to shoot for our program in the fall."

The group was competing in the collegiate division.

Chapin, Martin and Myers are all set to compete for the Tritons when they return.
