Iowa Central sweeps Grand View, Northeast Iowa

The Iowa Central sport shooting team remained unbeaten in competition this fall, sweeping Grand View and Northeast Iowa this past weekend at the range.

The Tritons posted a 487-481 victory over Grand View and topped Northeast Iowa, 491-432.

All four top finishes came from Iowa Central shooters, as Allison Jensen and Bryce Wade were first against Grand View with matching 98s. Sarah Sundene was third with a 97 while William Shatzer, Braiden Hurd and Brandon Nelson all tied for second with 97s. 

Wyatt Lindstrom had a perfect score of 100 vs. Northeast Iowa for top honors, while Taya Myers had a 95 for the highest score by a female. Thayne Chapin and Abram Driscoll added 99s followed by Aiken Crowley's 97 and 96s by both Tanner Raine and Roy Gerlach. 

Sarah England added a 92 to finish second behind Myers. 

"It was a good weekend for us," Iowa Central head coach Terry Coleman said. "It is great to have the depth to be able to split our team up and still go post good scores.

"We have a very talented group and I'm excited to see what they accomplish the rest of the year."

Iowa Central closes out the fall season by hosting Southwestern on October 12 before heading to Sparta, Illinois October 15-17 for ACUI Regionals.
