Tritons with a strong showing at regionals

SPARTA, Ill. - The Iowa Central sport shooting team competed here this past weekend at the ACUI Collegiate Clay Targets Central Midwest Conference Championships.

Overall, the Tritons finished second as a team in doubles trap with Abram Driscoll finishing as the men's champion and Taya Myers the women's runner-up.

In trap singles, Iowa Central posted its highest score of the season with a 497, finishing tied with perennial four-year power Lindenwood University. 

Isaac Crist was third overall in the men's division with a perfect score of 100 and Drew Baxter was fourth with a perfect score of 100. Sarah Sundene was second in the women's shooting division with a 99.

"It was a great way to finish off the fall schedule," Iowa Central head coach Terry Coleman said. "We shot great as a team and really left with a lot of momentum moving into the winter and spring."

Along with Iowa Central and Lindenwood, Iowa State, Iowa, Missouri, Wartburg and several other schools were in attendance at the meet.
