Sports Shooting Competes at ICCAC Championships

Iowa Central Sports Shooting competed at the ICCAC Championships last weekend

The Iowa Central Triton Sports Shooting Team wrapped up the fall season competing in the ICCAC Championships at the New Pioneer Gun Club in Waukee October 21-22.

The American Trap Team finished in fourth place with a total score of 471. Cody Dickerson, Chayden Wright and Nathan Swason each had 95 for the Tritons and Kaelan Smith and Drew Crump each had 93.

In Sporting Clays, Iowa Central finished second as a team. Chayden Wright shot 84, Kaelan Smith 82, and Cody Dickerson 76 for a team total of 242 points.

In individual Men's Sporting Clays, Chayden Wright finished in fourth place with an 84 and Kaelan Smith finished in fifth place with 82. Emma Chapin was the Women's Sporting Clays individual champion with 70.

The American Skeet Team finished second overall with a combined score of 472. Shooting for the team were Cody Dickerson and Kaelen Smith each with 96, Kaleb Robinson with 94, and Aaron Boleyn and Josh Kenkel each shooting 93.

 In individual Skeet, Cody Dickerson placed fifth with a 96. Keeley Waack finished in fourth place in Women's Individual Skeet with 89.

In the Super Sporting Clays Division, Iowa Central finished in second place as a team; Chayden Wright shot 41, Aaron Boleyn 38 and Cody Dickerson 37 for a combined team score of 116.

In Men's Individual Sporting Clays Winners included Chayden Wright in fourth place with 41. Emma Chapin finished second place in women's individual with a 34.

Iowa Central finished second in High Overall standings as a team with 1301.

In Men's Individual High Overall points, Chayden Wright finished fourth with 311 and Kaelan Smith fifth with 307. Emma Chapin received fifth place in High Women's Overall standings with 272.

Chayden, Kaelan, and Emma were placed on the Iowa SCTP Junior College High Over-All Team.
