The Iowa Central Rodeo Team will be returning to action this fall following a successful 2022-2023 run in the collegiate rodeo circuit.

The Tritons 50-member line-up includes seven returning national qualifiers from the 2022 season.

The team will kick off its season at the Falcon Frontier Days Rodeo at the University of Wisconsin River Falls September 8-9. The rodeo is the first of five the Tritons will compete in for the fall season.

Participants will enter 10 events in the rodeo: four womens events including breakaway roping, goat tying, barrel racing and team roping and six mens events- bareback riding, saddle bronc, bull riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling and team roping.  The Tritons compete within the Great Plains Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. They finished first in the regular season mens team standings and the women finished the 2022-23 season in fourth place. Iowa Central also recorded 14 Top-10 regional finishes last season including three regional event champions in bareback riding, bull riding and tie down roping.

Moving forward in 2023, the Tritons hope to again capture a regional title and qualify for the Collegiate National Finals Rodeo in June.

"Our goal is always working towards mens and womens regional championships," said Head Iowa Central Rodeo Coach Bridget Lambright-Coleman. "We are excited to get started. We have a lot of young talent this year with high expectations."

The rodeo team will compete at River Falls September 8-9, Mid Plains Community College in North Platte, Neb. September 14-16; Dickinson State University in Dickinson, ND September 29-30; and Buena Vista University in Alta October 6-7.

The Tritons will host their home rodeo, the Triton Stampede, Friday and Saturday September. 23-23 at the Webster County Fairgrounds in Fort Dodge.
