The Iowa Central softball team has been picked to finish fourth in the ICCAC by the coaches.

Des Moines Area is the preseason favorite followed by Kirkwood and North Iowa Area. The Bears and Eagles both won regional titles last year, just as they have done each of the past five seasons. 

The Tritons advanced to the Pod A final before falling to DMACC. They were fourth overall at 16-11 in the league a season ago and 40-17 overall.

All-Americans Bre Tjebben and Sophie Cave return for Rick Sandquist and the Tritons along with Parker Mathews. Key newcomers include former Fort Dodge Senior High and St. Edmond all-stater Maggie Harvey, Sofia Tenuta and Mackenzie Rosenboom. 

After opening the season 2-3 in Florida, the Tritons head to Texas this coming weekend for a handful of games.
