Tritons split on the road

The 17th-ranked Iowa Central softball team scored a split with Ottawa JV Sunday afternoon.

The Tritons picked up a 14-10 victory before falling 11-3.
 
In the opener, Mackenzie Rosenboom stayed hot at the plate, belting two homers and finishing 4-for-5 with four RBI and four runs scored.
 
Maggie Harvey plated a pair with Parker Mathews, Bre Tjebben, Abbie Thilges and Shelby Versaevel all drove in a run. Tjebben collected three hits and Sophie Cave had two with three runs scored for the Tritons (9-4 overall).
 
Kayla Wookey earned the win in relief, striking out five over three innings.
 
Sidney Marker, Harvey, Lauren James and Alexis Morrison all had two hits in the nightcap, with Cave and Morrison driving in a run each.
 
Iowa Central heads to the Cloud County Tournament this coming weekend back in Kansas for six games.
