Another split for Tritons on the road

IOWA FALLS - For the second consecutive day, the 11th-ranked Iowa Central softball team recorded a split with Ellsworth.

After falling in the opener, 7-3, the Tritons rebounded with a 22-6 victory.

Iowa Central (19-11 overall, 13-3 in ICCAC) plated 12 runs in the second inning. Loghen Schnetzer hit two homers in the win with MacKenzie Rosenboom also going yard in her return to the lineup.

Schnetzer finished 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored, Rosenboom drove in three on three hits with three runs scored. Abby Wilson had three hits and scored three times, Carlie Thompson had three hits and two runs, and Allyson Stewart was 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs.

Rachel Newell had two hits, drove in two and scored twice with Kryslynn Ruppert driving in two.

Kayla Wookey had two strikeouts, Madison Huisman four and Emily English a pair.

In the opener, Rosenboom had a homer and a pair of RBI, Wilson had two hits and Newell stole two bases. 

Iowa Central heads to Estherville to face Iowa Lakes Wednesday.
