Split for Tritons on the road

CRESTON - The Iowa Central softball team came away with a split here Saturday afternoon against Southwestern.

After falling 4-3 in the opener, the Tritons claimed game two, 10-6.

In the win for Iowa Central (29-19 overall, 23-11 in ICCAC), Abby Wilson was 4-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI, Loghen Schnetzer had three hits and drove in two, and Mady Lange had two hits and an RBI. Both Schnetzer and Lange scored a run.

Megan Poole scored two runs on two hits with a stolen base, as Carlie Thompson and Kenzie Rosenboom each drove in a run.

Kayla Wookey struck out five and Mikhaela Muir pitched the final three innings, striking out four with just two hits allowed and no walks.

The Tritons scored three runs in the first, another in the second and five more in the third. 

In the opener, Wilson had a hit, scored a run and drove in another with Lange and Schnetzer also recording an RBI each. Allyson Stewart and Rachel Newell each scored a run as Madison Huisman struck out six.

These two teams play another doubleheader here on Sunday.
