Streak reaches five for Iowa Central

TITUSVILLE, Fla. - The long road to Florida has been a good one for the Iowa Central softball team.

While battling inclement weather and delays, the Tritons have won five in a row, scoring three victories over Alpena, Anoka-Ramsey and Parkland. 

In a 7-5 win over Alpena, the Tritons plated four runs in the top of the eighth for the win. Mikhaela Muir drove in two runs with Riley Gilroy and Sydney Ballard each recording two hits.

Gilroy, Mady Lange, Carlie Thompson and Chloe Mickelson each drove in a run. 

Muir and Gilroy struck out eight in the win over Anoka-Ramsey, allowing just three hits. Muir had a triple, Sophia Klinger a double and both Amber McKinney and Klinger drove in two.

After Parkland tied Iowa Central at 2-all in the seventh, the Tritons earned the win with a run in the bottom of the inning. Olivia Harmon, Gilroy, Thompson, Loghen Schnetzer, McKinney and Ballrd each had a hit, with Thompson driving in two and Ballard one.
