Tritons end Florida trip with momentum

TITUSVILLE, Fla. - The Iowa Central softball team ended their trip to Florida with three more victories here on Tuesday.

The Tritons topped Lewis and Clark (10-2, 3-2) and Southeastern (3-2). Rain caused the final games of the trip to be canceled on Wednesday. 

Olivia Engler picked up her third win inside the circle in the opener with Lewis and Clark, striking out four. Carlie Thompson drove in five, hitting a homer to finish 2-for-2 at the plate with a walk.

Olivia Harmon, Sydney Ballard and Mady Lange each had two hits and scored twice. Harmon also drove in a pair. 

In the second game with Lewis and Clark, Iowa Central overcame a 2-1 deficit with two runs in the fourth. Ayden Pollitt had two hits and drove in a pair, with Taylor Lee scoring her third win by striking out four over seven innings. 

The Tritons plated three runs in the seventh to top Southeastern. Thompson and Ballard each drove in a run, and Jori Hajek had two hits. Mackenzie Crampton scored the win, striking out six batters. 

Iowa Central is scheduled to host Iowa Lakes in its ICCAC opener on Saturday at Rogers Park.
