The Iowa Central softball team dropped their first two games of the season at Rogers Park here on Saturday vs. Iowa Lakes.
Scores were 16-2 and 6-4 in favor of the Lakers.
In the opener, Sydney Ballard had two hits and drove in a run, with Amber McKinney also plating a run. Olivia Harmon and Loghen Schnetzer each scored for the Tritons, who had won eight in a row entering the doubleheader.
Carlie Thompson, McKinney, Jori Hajek and Sophia Klinger each had a hit, with Thompson stealing a base.
Hajek and Schnetzer both connected on home runs in the second contest. Schnetzer had two RBI and Hajek one.
Schnetzer was also 2-for-3 at the plate while Thompson had a double and Mady Lange a base hit. Mackenzie Crampton recorded three strikeouts inside the circle.
These two teams will square off in another doubleheader on Sunday beginning at noon.
