Iowa Central picks up two victories on the road

SIOUX CITY - The Iowa Central softball team continued their winning ways, sweeping the Morningside JV here Friday.

Scores were 12-7 and 6-5.

In the opener, Jori Hajek was 4-for-5 with a home run, a triple, three RBI, four runs and a stolen base scored to lead the Tritons (18-10 overall). Amber McKinney had three hits, drove in two runs and scored twice with two doubles, while Olivia Harmon had a triple.

Carlie Thompson finished with two hits and Sophia Klinger drove in a pair. Mackenzie Crampton earned the win, striking out four.

Riley Gilroy homers and drove in three runs to help Iowa Central finish the sweep. Myra Megli had two hits and drove in a pair with a double, while Mady Lange scored and drove in a run.

Mikhaela Muir picked up the win in relief, striking out three with just two hits and no runs allowed over three-plus innings.

The Tritons, who have won seven in a row, will host Dakota County on Sunday at Rogers Park. First-pitch is set for 2 p.m.
