Amber McKinney and Riley Gilroy were both named to the all-region softball first team from Iowa Central, the ICCAC announced recently.

McKinney, a sophomore, ranked first in the league in RBI (73) and total bases (150), while tying for the lead with eight sacrifice flies in 56 games played. She also hit 11 of her 15 home runs in ICCAC games.

Gilroy, also a sophomore, drove in 44 runs and had 130 total bases while becoming the ace of the Triton pitching staff.

Iowa Central reached the finals of the Region XI-A Tournament before falling to Kirkwood.

Iowa Central's Sydney Ballard was placed on the second team with Aleena Sandy, Taylor Lee, Jori Hajek, Myra Megli, Olivia Harmon and Morgan Weeks all earning honorable mention status.
