Softball Wins Four Straight in Florida

Softball won 4 in a row on Spring break games in Florida

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — The Iowa Central softball team started off their Florida trip with four straight wins recently.

After taking care of St. Cloud Tech (16-0) and Kishwaukee (8-1), the Tritons added a second win over Kishwaukee (11-3) while also topping Williston State (18-6) on Monday.

Kennedy Palmer and Tobi Topp each hit home runs in the first game, with Calli Schell and Jayda Long both going 3-for-3. Long drove in three runs, as did Palmer and Topi, with Palmer, Schell and Long all scoring three times.

Long moved to 6-1 inside the circle with a three-inning one-hitter, striking out four.

Emma Hoyle dominated Kishwaukee on Sunday, striking out 10 over seven innings for her first win of the season. Palmer was 3-for-4 with three RBI and Long added two hits.

Topp drove in a pair and Reagan Enright scored twice.

Long notched her seventh win of the year with seven strikeouts vs. Kishwaukee Monday, allowing just two hits. Aleena Sandy hit two homers and drove in five on three hits, with Kaylee Cary also going deep.

Palmer had three hits and Alexis Hansen two with two runs. Morgan Weeks also had two hits and scored three times.

Palmer, Breanna Nolte, Sydney Wilson, Grace Behrns and Enright all hit homers vs. Williston State. Nolte drove in four, Palmer had three hits, two RBI and two runs, and Hoyle picked up the win.

Following a day off, Iowa Central plays St. Cloud again on Wednesday.
