Triton Softball Plays Four Games in Kansas

The Iowa Central softball team returned to Kansas Saturday and Sunday.

The Tritons (17-9 overall) fell to Neosho in both games of the Saturday doubleheader.

The Tritons lost game one 9-2 to the Panthers in their third meeting of the season.

Breanna Nolte had one RBI for the Tritons and Alexis Hanson had a double.

In game two, the Tritons fell to the Panthers 2-1.

A fifth inning home run from Kaylee Cary drove in the only run for the Tritons.

 

On Sunday, the Tritons split a doubleheader with Allen County.

The Tritons took game one 7-3 over the Red Devils.

Breanna Nolte led the Tritons with a home run, double and two RBI. Kaylee Cary added a triple and Alexis Hansen also had a double.

Jayda Long (9-3) earned her ninth win on the Triton mound and Cailyn Hardy (3) had the save.

The final game of the weekend was scoreless until the third where both the Tritons and Allen County would score the only runs of the game. The Red Devils would come away with the 2-1 win in seven innings of play.

Jayda Long had a double and Breanna Nolte drove in the lone run for the Tritons.

The Tritons will face Marshalltown on Wednesday in their home opener with a doubleheader set for 2 p.m. at Harlan Rogers.
