Tritons Shut Out Hawkeye

The Triton softball team blanked Hawkeye in both games at Harlan Rogers Thursday.

Iowa Central got on the board early, scoring one in the first, three in the second, followed by four in the third, and six in the fourth for the 14-0 five-inning victory.

Kennedy Palmer led the Tritons with five RBI and a home run. Morgan Weeks and Aleena Sandy each added three RBI.

Emma Hoyle (6-3) got the win on the mound for the Tritons with five strikeouts.

Iowa Central kept the momentum going in game two, scoring five runs in the first for an early 5-0 lead. The Tritons added two in the second and one in the third while keeping the Redtails scoreless in the win.

Gabriella Taber and Grace Behrns led the Tritons offensively with two RBIs each.

Jadeyn Stahr (2-1) had four strikeouts and got the win for the Tritons on the mound.

"We played well yesterday all around from pitching, to hitting, to fielding," said Triton Head Coach Bo Tjebben. "It was a very good day. We have to stay focused because we still have 26 (regular season) games."
