Triton Softball goes 10-0 in Florida

1500 miles from their home field at Harlan Rogers Sports Complex, Triton Softball went 10-0 on their Spring Break trip to Melbourne, FL and the Space Coast Spring Games.

"It's important for us to take this trip every year," said Triton Head Coach, Bo Tjebben. "It gives us a chance to play in warmer weather, we get a lot of games in, and the team gets to spend a lot of time bonding over the course of the week."

The Tritons opened with 15-2 and 8-0 wins over Minnesota North-Rainy River and St. Cloud Technical College on Sunday (3/9) and would go on to collect wins over Joliet, Hocking, Lake Michigan College, Black Hawk, Monroe, and East Georgia State throughout the week.

"We hit the ball really well and our pitchers threw well," said Tjebben. We also played great defense throughout the entire week. It was a great week for us."

Bre Nolte led the way offensively for the Tritons hitting .607 with 17 hits, six doubles and two triples. Jayda Long hit .526 on the week with six doubles, one triple, and one home run.

Long and Jillian French were both 4-0 on the mound for the Tritons.

"Now we get ready for the competition of the ICCAC Conference. It's one of the toughest in the country and we'll be right in the mix," said Tjebben. "We're excited to play at home in front of our Triton fans in just a couple of weeks."

Up next for the Tritons are matchups with Johnson County (3/21) and KCK (3/22) in Kansas City, KS before debuting at their new turf field complex at Harlan Rogers Sports Complex on Saturday, March 29th vs. NIACC.
