Four wins in two days for Triton Softball

Having played ten games in the last six days with sweeps of Southwestern and Hawkeye on Tuesday (4/8) and Wednesday (4/9), Triton Head Coach, Bo Tjebben, is looking forward to a couple of days of rest for the #17 Tritons.

"It was nice to get four more home wins, but I feel like the girls are getting worn down. A little exhausted from our schedule," said Tjebben. "We're going to give them a rest day and recharge our batteries."

A walk-off home run from Gracie Kirk in game two on Wednesday closed the Triton's 13-1 and 9-0 sweep of Southwestern. Breanna Nolte lead the way against the Spartans with four hits, two home runs, and seven RBI. Kyra Kain and Carly Ryan also had home runs. Jayda Long (13-2) and Jadeyn Stahr (6-1) picked up the wins on the mound. Long had four strikeouts in four innings in game one while Stahr allowed just three hits in five innings in game two.

The Tritons collected wins #29 and #30 with Thursday's 11-1 and 6-1 sweep of Hawkeye. Nolte, Natalie Rasmussen, and Cailyn Hardy each had 4 RBI. Rasmussen and Hardy both had two homeruns with Nolte adding a double, triple, and homerun in the wins.

Long allowed two hits over five innings with nine strikeouts to pick up the win in game one for her 14thof the season. Stahr pitched six solid innings for her 7th win in game two. She allowed four hits with one strikeout.

"We've been hitting the ball really well," said Tjebben. "We just have to keep being a family. If we stay together, play hard, and have each other's back, great things are going to happen for us."

The Tritons (30-5) host Northeast at 1:00 PM on Saturday (4/12) and #7 DMACC on Sunday (12/13) at Harlan Rogers Sports Complex. First pitch is set for 12:00 PM on Sunday.
