Hodges Fieldhouse has definitely held a home-court advantage for the Iowa Central women this year.

The Tritons stretched their current win streak to three and improved to 10-2 at home on the year with a 67-61 victory over Des Moines Area Sunday afternoon.

Mardaeja Cross continued her strong run, scoring 22 points, grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing out five assists. Last Wednesday night, the sophomore recorded a triple-double to lead Iowa Central (12-7 overall, 4-2 in ICCAC).

"We're getting to know the strengths and weaknesses of each other as a team and as individuals," Cross said. "With the loss of Justice (Crooks), other players are learning to step up and taking advantage of minutes."

Isabell West added 19 points and eight rebounds, with Auriyah Stewart chipping in 10 points, five assists, three boards and two steals. Aaliyah Hull also had six points and collected 11 rebounds with two blocked shots.

"Intensity is always talked about with Coach (Kelly) Kruger and toughness wins tough games," Cross said. "We've been practicing harder for a shorter period of time."

Next action for the Tritons will come Wednesday when they head to Mason City to face No. 5 North Iowa Area at 5:30 p.m.
