Tritons keep pace with road win

IOWA FALLS - The Iowa Central women picked up their fifth win since the start of 2020 here Wednesday night, besting Ellsworth, 71-40.

The Tritons put the game away early, jumping out to a 19-5 lead after the first. 

Jordan Engbrecht led the way with 18 points, hitting three 3-pointers. Mardaeja Cross and Isabell West added 14 each, with K'Breonna Collins chipping in nine off the bench for Iowa Central (14-8 overall, 5-3 in ICCAC).

Aaliyah Hull had eight points, 10 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and two assists, Anni Cummings added six points with eight assists, five boards and three steals, and Cross had eight rebounds and four assists.

On the night, the Tritons had 20 assists on 26 made field goals. 

Next action for the Tritons will take place inside Hodges Fieldhouse starting on Saturday with a league meeting vs. Iowa Lakes. Iowa Central also hosts Southwestern next Wednesday night.
