Kelly Kruger has announced his decision to resign as head women's basketball coach at Iowa Central.

Kevin Twait, athletic director for the school, made the announcement.

"We are grateful for the time, talent and energy that Coach Kruger put into our women's basketball program," Twait said. "We wish him nothing but the very best as he continues in his professional career."

Twait added that a search process to replace Kruger will begin immediately.

Kruger recently completed his fourth season with the Tritons, going 17-14 overall and 8-8 in the ICCAC. In four seasons, he was 64-60 overall.

The Little Rock, Iowa native owns nearly 500 career wins in 35 years on the sidelines. Kruger has also coached at Ashford University, Adams State University and Southwest Minnesota State University.

Kruger and his wife, Patti, have three children: Carter, Kelsie and Katie.
