The Iowa Central women find themselves looking for answers following a 73-53 loss to Northeast here Wednesday night.

After starting the season 2-1, the Tritons have dropped their last three games. The first two losses were by a combined seven points. 

Isabell West had another double-double, scoring 14 points with 14 rebounds to go along with three blocks, three assists and two steals. Nevaeh Galloway added 12 points and six rebounds with Jordan Engbrecht scoring 12 points.

"They went to that zone and we just couldn't make our shots," Iowa Central head coach Brian Ortmeier said. "We had some troubles with that and sloppy turnovers and it led to some easy shots for them."

The Hawks (5-2 overall, 4-2 in ICCAC) put together a 9-0 run at the end of the first quarter to take control early in the contest. Iowa Central (2-4, 2-4) battled back, though, taking the lead with just over four minutes to go before halftime, 25-23.

Northeast once again flexed its might as they scored 22 unanswered over the second and third quarters. The run eventually reached 27-2 and the Hawks had a 23-point advantage.

"We worked on some different things in practice this week and we'll continue doing that moving forward," Ortmeier said. "There are plenty of things we can learn from this."

Ashley Hassett had a game-high 23 points to lead Northeast. Hassett also had 13 rebounds, five assists and four steals. 

The scoring output was the lowest of the season for the Tritons, as they shot just 33 percent from the field as a team and missed 19 three-point attempts. 

Iowa Central returns to action Wednesday when they travel to Mason City to face North Iowa Area for a second time. The Tritons opened the season with a 64-54 victory over the Trojans.
