Iowa Central stopped at Kirkwood

CEDAR RAPIDS - Second-ranked Kirkwood got the best of the Iowa Central women here Saturday afternoon, picking up a 79-36 victory.

The Eagles (10-0 overall, 10-0 in ICCAC) raced out to a commanding 19-9 lead after the first quarter and maintained control by outscoring the Tritons (4-6, 4-6) in the second, 29-9.

Nevaeh Galloway and Nevaeh Moeschter each scored nine points to lead Iowa Central. Galloway also had 10 rebounds and blocked five shots. 

Carley West had nine rebounds while Isabell West added six boards. Jordan Engbrecht had eight points. 

For Kirkwood, Kemara Watson had 15 points and Ashley Tull added 14.

The Tritons return to action on Wednesday when they host Iowa Lakes inside Hodges Fieldhouse at 5 p.m. The Lakers (5-7, 5-7) picked up a 77-34 victory over Marshalltown on Saturday.
