Triton Women Back on Track with 63-53 Win

Womens basketball wins 63-53 over Southeast of Nebraska

The Iowa Central women got back on track with a win over Southeast (Nebraska) in front of a home crowd for the Heroes Day game Saturday.

Coming off their first loss of the season, the Tritons (9-1 overall, 1-1 ICCAC) led 30-21 over the Bobcats at the half. A strong third quarter by Central cut the Tritons' lead to two before coming back to outscore the Bobcats 17-9 in the fourth for the win, 63-53.

Freshman Laney Pilcher led the way for the Tritons with 19 points and seven rebounds while fellow Freshman Lainey Maehl added 10 from the bench. Sophomore Kaitlyn Tendal finished with nine points, Mia Danielson added eight points and eight rebounds and Jordan Mayland and Alyssa Lux each added five points for the Tritons.

The Tritons are back home on Wednesday for a home contest with Des Moines area at 5:30 p.m. in Hodges Fieldhouse.
