BOONE — The Iowa Central women raced past Des Moines Area here Saturday to advance in the Region XI-A Tournament, 92-70.

The Tritons (21-8 overall) will now meet Kirkwood, who knocked off Ellsworth, in the finals on Monday in Cedar Rapids at 5:30 p.m.

"Our win was pure execution," ICCC head coach Sabah Dickerson said. "Our team played a tough 40 minutes of basketball on both ends of the floor. We had to focus on limiting Reanna Hutchinson and Jaden Ainsley's touches. Both guards are so strong for DMACC and we wanted to put pressure on their other players.

"Our team did such a great job with ball movement, shot selection and transition offense. It was a great redemption game for our program."

Emily Theiss had a huge game for the Tritons, scoring a game-high 28 points. Laney Pilcher (15), Alicia Hatlestad (13) and Olivia Miller (12) also reached double figures.

Pilcher pulled down a career-high 20 rebounds and dished out eight assists.

DMACC bows out at 20-11.

During the regular season, the Bears won by meetings with Iowa Central. The Tritons also lost both games vs. Kirkwood (29-2), which took place over three days in January.
