The Iowa Central women's bowling team opened action at the NJCAA Championships on Thursday with a solid start.

The Tritons sit third overall after rolling a 5097 score. Barton and Rock Valley are in front of the team race with 5215 and 5195. 

In singles action for Iowa Central, Miranda Pelant shot a 543 to place herself 11th with both Allison Christenson and Evelyn Roen rolling 513s. Baili Girkin (511) and Madison Ross (504) are right behind.

Toni Hansen and Girkin were the top doubles team, shooting a 1028 for seventh, while Pelant and Christensen are ninth with a 1021. Roen and Ross are 13th at 991.
