MILFORD, Kan. - The Iowa Central women's golf team concluded their season with play at the NJCAA Plains District Championship here on Tuesday.

Kelly Boleyn finished in a tie for 13th overall with Halle Rezac placing 43rd overall.

Iowa Western won the team title with a 621 with Dodge City placing second and Barton third. Dodge City's Thitapha Iamtragul claimed medalist honors with a 149, besting Luisa Gibson of Iowa Western by a stroke.

Boleyn, a returning national qualifier, shot an 82, cutting four strokes off her round one score. She finished with a 168.

Rezac fired a 96 after shooting 108 during the first round for a total of 204.

"Tough way for the year to end for Kelly," Iowa Central head coach Kris Graewin said. "She played incredible for a long stretch of her final round and then just had a couple of uncharacteristic mistakes that caused a couple of doubles. Golf is a tough sport because it can be just one shot here and one shot there and you miss out. Kelly tied for the final position to qualify for nationals after Barton Community College received an at-large bid but she lost that tiebreaker.

"Women's golf at the NJCAA level is in a bad place at the national level. There are some decisions that have been made over the last year that is seriously hurting our sport instead of grow it. Hopefully after this year some new leadership is put in place and women's golf can truly thrive like it has in the past."

The NJCAA Championships take place May 9-12 in Lake Mary, Fla.
