Tritons Currently Sixth at Districts

Triton women are currently 6th at districts in Dodge City, KS.

DODGE CITY, Kan. — The Iowa Central women's golf team sits sixth following the opening round of the Plains District Championships here Monday.

The Tritons shot a 350 as host Dodge City is first followed by Iowa Western, Barton County, Des Moines Area and Otero. The first and second place teams automatically qualify for nationals.

Liv Tait is tied for 15th with an 84 to lead Iowa Central with teammate Ivanna Becerra-Diaz is tied for 19th with an 85.

Olivia Eckert is tied for 21st with an 86, Brooklyn Backoff is tied for 36th with a 95 and Jenna Kramer is tied for 41st with a 98.

Tait recorded five straight pars on the front and finished with 10 for the day. Becerra-Diaz had seven pars and Eckert also had seven with five on the back.

A total of 10 teams and 12 individuals automatically qualify for nationals with five additional teams being selected as wild card entrants.
