Troy Bennett is in his 26th season coaching the Iowa Central wrestling program.

Since Bennett's arrival, the Tritons have finished in the Top-3 at nationals 17 times, claimed eight national championships and six national dual championships. Bennett has seen over 40 national champions and more than 150 All-Americans come through Iowa Central.

Bennett took over as interim head coach during the 2003-04 season, leading the Tritons to a third place finish at nationals with seven All-American wrestlers. They also claimed the regional title that season.

As an athlete, Bennett attended Iowa Central and was a national runner-up before completing his degree and attending the University of Northern Iowa. With the Panthers, he was a two-year starter and runner-up at the Western Wrestling Conference Tournament. Bennett earned his degree in secondary education and his master's in teaching from UNI.

Bennett resides in Fort Dodge and has three children: Madison, Drew and Tory.
