Herbst hat trick leads Iowa Central

MASON CITY - Julia Herbst recorded a hat trick and Mara Crimmins knocked in her first goal of the season to help the Iowa Central women's soccer team down North Iowa Area here Wednesday, 4-2.

Herbst had the first two goals of the match for the Tritons, knocking in her third to provide some insurance on the scoreboard. She now has 11 goals on the season and added an assist on the Crimmins goal. 

Iowa Central went up 2-0 as Herbst fired in goals within just a few minutes of one another. The Trojans, though, rallied with two goals of their own to tie it before time expired in the first half. Crimmins had the game-winner midway through the second half with Herbst providing the insurance goal in the final minutes.

The Tritons are now 5-3 on the year and 1-1 in the ICCAC. They host Hawkeye next Wednesday at Rogers Sports Complex in Fort Dodge.
