WATERLOO - The Iowa Central women's soccer team was denied a 2-0 start to the season, falling to Hawkeye here Monday, 3-2.

Both teams netted a goal each in the first half, with Hawkeye scoring the game-winner at the 84th minute.

Elicia Mulvaney got the scoring going with a goal five minutes into play off an assist by Abigail Hersom. After the RedTails tied it up, Flavie Sallaz put Iowa Central (1-1 overall, 1-1 in ICCAC) made it 2-1 in favor of the Tritons.

Next action for the Tritons will be at home Wednesday vs. Northeast beginning at 3 p.m.
