Sibenaller takes over soccer program

Jordan Sibenaller has been named the new head coach of the Iowa Central women's soccer team.

Sibenaller replaces Rilee Miller, who led the Tritons this past fall.

"First, I would like to thank Rilee Miller and Sydney Nordan for doing a wonderful job with a young team that will be really good next year," said Kevin Twait, Iowa Central Director of Athletics. "We fully respect Rilee's decision to resign as head women's soccer coach - as family trumps everything. Because of the success our women's soccer program has had on a national level, we were able to interview some outstanding candidates. At the end of the process, it came back to rewarding one of our own for his time, efforts and talents in assisting Pablo Rodriguez with our men's program the past several years.

"We are excited that Jordan Sibenaller has accepted the offer to become our next head women's soccer coach. He is a wonderful coach, outstanding recruiter and will build a culture and environment within our women's soccer program that young student-athletes will want to be a part of. Our administration is confident that Jordan will build on the past success of our women's soccer program and propel the program to even greater heights."

A veteran assistant under Rodriguez and the Iowa Central men's program, Sibenaller is anxious to begin his career as a head coach.

"It's exciting," Sibenaller said. "I'm ready to take the tools I've learned under Pablo and get started on the women's side. I've got things I believe in that I want to incorporate with a program and I'm excited to see how it works."

Sibenaller played for the Tritons from 2012-14 as a goalkeeper, recording 76 saves and a 14-4 record. He spent one season as an assistant with the Hawkeye men's and women's programs before returning to Iowa Central.

"I've learned over the years the importance of being organized and flexible when leading a program," Sibenaller said. "Growing up, I just loved sports and loved playing them. I knew I wanted to do something in the athletic field after I was done playing."

A graduate of Carroll High School, Sibenaller played soccer, baseball and basketball for the Tigers.
