Women's Soccer Improves to 13-2, ranked 10th in NJCAA

Women soccer beat Scott 8-0 on sophomore day

The Iowa Central Women's Soccer Team improved to 13-2 on the season with an 8-0 win over Scott Community College on Sophomore Day at Harlan Rogers Sports Complex.

Leading the Tritons with two goals each were midfielders Renata Mendez Rojas, and Lydia Zaragoza each with two. Defender Abby Hersom, forwards Landry McCoid and Eden Palkovic and midfielder Nicole Mares Rivera each scored one goal.

The Triton goal was defended by Holly Cowan and Kimberly Castillo who allowed no scores by the Eagles.

The Lady Tritons remain ranked at No. 10 in the NJCAA standings this week, averaging 6.8 goals per game and have scored a combined 102 goals for the 2023 season. They travel to Norfolk, Nebraska to face the No. 5 Hawks of Northeast on Wednesday October 18 for one final regular season match-up before postseason play begins on October 24.
