After a slow first half, the Iowa Central Women's Soccer Team advanced to the Region 11 semi-finals with an 8-0 win over Dakota County Saturday October 21.

The No. 11 Tritons received the No. 2 seed in the regional tournament, earning the first-round quarterfinal game on their home field.

"We came out slow in the first half and did not play at a good enough level to put the game away," said Triton Head Coach Jodan Sibenaller.

Scoring for the Tritons were Forwards Eden Palkovic and Landry McCoid and Midfielder Renata Mendez Rojas each with two goals and Defender Marissa Kiemen scored one.

"We started clicking in the second half and were able to score 5 goals," said Sibenaller. "We will need to play a lot better on Tuesday if we want to make it to the conference championship."

The Tritons will host the Redtails of Hawkeye Community College in a 2 p.m. semifinal contest at Harlan Rogers Sports Complex on Tuesday October 24.
