Tritons Advance to Regional Final

The 11th-ranked Iowa Central women's soccer team posted a 3-0 victory over Hawkeye here Tuesday in the semifinals of the Region XI Tournament.

With the win, the Tritons advance to face fifth-ranked Northeast on Saturday for the regional title. That winner moves into the district tournament for a spot in the NJCAA Div. II National Championships.

Landry McCoid had two goals with Emma Wright adding one. Eden Palkovic, Abby Jensen and Lydia Zaragoza each recorded an assist for the Tritons (15-3 overall), who went 8-0 at Rogers Sports Complex this season.

Northeast, who topped Iowa Central during the regular season, 2-0, to win the ICCAC championship, downed Iowa Lakes in the semifinals in overtime, 2-1.
