Co-ICCAC Female Student-Athlete of the Year honors were named this season after two outstanding displays of athletic success and off the field achievement. DMACC Softball's Courtney Donahue and Landry McCoid were two of this year's finest and earned this year's designation.
McCoid is a multi-sport student-athlete participating on Iowa Central's Women's Soccer team and Women's Track & Field team. For the Tritons, she is the First Team All-American selection in women's soccer since 2015. McCoid was the ICCAC Division II Women's Soccer Player of the Year and a First Team All-Region choice. Her 35 goals and 79 points scored were the second-most in NJCAA Division II.
As a part of the Track & Field team, she won the 2024 Outdoor Region 11 Heptathlon title at the Region 11 Championships. Earlier this year at the Indoor Regional Championship, McCoid placed third in the Pentathlon, fifth in the High Jump, seventh in the Triple Jump, and was a part of the winning 4x800 Meter Relay team.
McCoid led the team in soccer with nine game-winning goals and finished the season with nine assists.
"Landry is a model student-athlete for the women's soccer team and women's track & field team," said Head Soccer Coach Jordan Sibenaller. "She is successful in all areas of her life due to her commitment to doing things the right way.
In her free time, McCoid participated in Iowa Central's Track & Field's visit day at the Friendship Haven Nursing Home. In the classroom, she was awarded with First Team All-ICCAC Academic status and earned NJCAA All-Academic Second Team honors as well.
McCoid is transferring to Western Illinois University to continue both her academic and soccer career.
