Palkovic Leads Tritons into Postseason Play

Following losses to #1 Iowa Western, #2 Johnson County, and #3 Heartland in their first five games, Triton Head Coach, Jordan Sibenaller, knew playing some of the toughest teams in the country would pay off later for his #10 Tritons. "We are very proud of how resilient our team has been this season. Earlier this season, we lost a lot of close games to some of the best teams in the country. Those experiences helped us form our identity and challenged us to get better."

Having won seven of their last eight games, the Tritons rolled to a 13-0 victory over Marshalltown on Wednesday afternoon to finish the regular season as Region 11 Regular Season Champions with a 9-4-3 (8-0-1 conference) record. Six Tritons scored with Eden Palkovic leading the way with five goals and an assist – giving her 26 goals for the season.

After clinching the first round bye as Regional 11 Tournament play begins this weekend, Coach Sibenaller and the Tritons are ready for post-season play. "I feel we are playing as well as any team in the country and we can't wait to start tournament play." The Tritons will host the winner of Iowa Lakes/Western Iowa Tech at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 30th in the Regional 11 Tournament Semifinals.
