SIOUX CITY - The Iowa Central swim teams swept the titles here Friday night at the Morningside Stampede.

The Triton women bested Southwest Minnesota State, Barton, the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Morningside, scoring 75 points.

On the men's side, Iowa Central had 158 points to finish ahead of Barton and Morningside.

Majo Diaz was a double-winner, claiming first place finishes in both the 200 free and 100 butterfly. Eve Berg (1000 free) and Emilie Andrin (100 breaststroke) also won events, with the 400 medley relay placing first, as well.

Andrin, Berg and Magali Mouton all earned second place finishes.

For the men, Marcelo Busch and Billy Cruz won two individual events each. Busch won the 1000 free and 500 free, while Cruz the 200 I.M. and 100 butterfly.
Vini Molz (200 free), Emilie Lutzeler (50 free), Vincent Fletcher (100 free) and Mariano Sosa (100 back) were winners, with Javier Ronda, Gergard Ijspeert, Tjeerd Van Stein, Molz and Drew Giles all adding seconds.

The Tritons had the Top-5 finishes in the 200 I.M. as Sosa was the runner-up to Cruz.

Iowa Central also claimed the 400 medley and 400 free relay titles.

Tritons compete at Mustang Invitational

SIOUX CITY - The Iowa Central swim team competed for a second consecutive day here, earning a two Top-3 team finishes and setting several pool records at the Mustang Invitational.

A night after sweeping the Morningside Stampede, the Triton men were second to Barton at the Mustang Invitational. The women finished third overall behind Augustana and Barton.

Billy Cruz won three individual events and was part of a winning relay for the Tritons. Cruz set a new pool record in both the 50 free and 200 free, along with a school record in the 200 butterfly.

In the 50 free, he broke the record set by former Iowa Central swimmer Lucas Woodman in 2016. Cruz went 20.45.

Mariano Sosa set a new pool record in both the 400 I.M. and 100 back, also winning the 200 backstroke. He broke his own pool record in the 400 I.M. from last year going 4:15.46, while his backstroke time broke a record he set Friday night.

Marcelo Busch won the 500 free for the Tritons.

For the women, Emilie Andrin was second in the 200 I.M., 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke, with Paula Ronda finishing second in the 200 back and 400 I.M.
Majo Diaz earned runner-up finishes in both the 100 free and 200 free.
