Andrade and Vidal Win Iowa Doubles Title

Iowa Central women's duo Sofia Andrade and Juliana Vidal took home the title at the Iowa Women's Doubles Invitational in Pella on Saturday.

"After just a short week of practice, it was great to see what made these players so highly recruited," said head coach Jerry Thor. "Juliana brings phenomenal doubles instincts, and Sofia adds solid serving and groundstrokes. They play with intensity and effort and make a formidable doubles team."

The event was hosted by Central College and featured 29 doubles teams from some of the state's top programs, including Coe College, Grand View University, Simpson College, and more.

"I think I played well with Sofia, we have good chemistry on the court," added Vidal. "We don't worry about mistakes and just stay focused on winning the next point. We get great coaching and a lot of support from our teammates. My first impression is that college tennis here is really exciting and fun!"
